Community Gardens

Every integrative learning environment should include a place to sink your hands into the dirt, smell fresh flowers and herbs, and discover the magic of a seed sprouting.  The Access Granted Community Gardens are a space for students and teachers to build an understanding of the flow of life on Earth, and gain a clearer understanding of their actions through seeing direct reflections in nature.  These Gardens may change over time, and vary wildly based upon location.  They may be overflowing with herbs, finely crafted with roses, abundant sources of fruit and vegetables, or may begin simply as mycelial remediation areas.

Biomimicry Research Lab

The emerging technologies of the future don’t require extremely high-temperature reactors, deadly chemicals, or exotic materials.  Nature solves most of her problems at room temperature, with life-friendly and often healthy chemicals and materials.  In learning to apply nature’s way of construction, we must first become avid observers.  The Biomimicry Research Lab is a space to study existing and emerging technologies developed by learning from nature, and a place to research and discover new technologies.
