Access World Café
The Access World Café is a comfortable space where customers can connect with each other while they learn about cultures and drink exotic beverages from many areas of the world. It will provide a means of networking people interested in the healing arts, international/independent films, technology, art and design, games, health, martial arts, alternative medicine, meditation, and energetic body arts. To this end, the Access World Café is designed with attention to the oriental five-element theory of balance and Feng Shui with the intention of creating a healing and comforting atmosphere.
Fine teas will be served from abroad as well as locally grown organic herbal teas. Coffee, espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and mochas will also be available. Specialty drinks will include “Elixer” brand tonics, house-made soy milk, Thai iced coffee and tea, house-made chai and spiced teas, Indian yogurt lassis, organic home grown kava, noni juice, hibiscus flower tea, coconut water, taro root shakes, avocado shakes, yerba mate, and many other rare drinks found in various cultures around the world. There will be no alcoholic drinks of any kind promoted or sold in line with the intention of growth, health and empowered motivation.
Light snacks and appetizers are locally prepared by a caterer and delivered daily. All food provided is macrobiotic, organic, and mainly vegetarian or vegan. The caterer will develop weekly menus with specific international themes, which will be coordinated with the cuisine of the area pertaining to that week’s films in the Independent Film Theatre. This will keep a dynamic variety of foods available to customers, and provide effective education in international culinary techniques.
Merchandise is located throughout the Access World Café and consists of local organic tea, imported teas, custom tea pots and pottery sets, various international/independent films, books on healing arts, tools for meditation, and the music of the International Multimedia Center. Items are specifically selected according to educational goals surrounding specific areas of Access Granted, and the international cultures represented within the products and services of the World Café.
